2022 AGLOA Outstanding Senior: Allison Powell

Congratulations to Allison Powell of St. Charles Catholic for being selected as one of the AGLOA Outstanding Seniors for 2022. The Outstanding Senior Award is a recognition given by AGLOA each year to students who have been selected by the AGLOA Tournament Council members from a select number of candidates. Outstanding Senior Awards are given to those graduates who not only have enviable competitive records but who also exhibit the highest qualities of character and sportsmanship.

For eight years, Allison competed in the New Orleans Academic Games League, starting as a fifth grader at St. Charles Borromeo. In that same year, 2015, she qualified for and attended her first Nationals. Except for the two years when the national tournament was canceled, she attended each national competition. Allison finished her career with a 1st-place team finish in Presidents as a member of a conglomerate NOAGL Senior Division team.

Allison helped start the Academic Games team at her high school with her two sisters. She taught her team members how to play the games and volunteered at her former elementary school to train their players. She also tutored Elementary and Middle Division players from other NOAGL schools.

NOAGL thanks Allison for her dedication to promoting the spirit of Academic Games in the New Orleans Academic Games League and beyond.
