2024 AGLOA Outstanding Senior: Samuel Siegel

Congratulations to Samuel Siegel of Brother Martin High School for being selected as one of the AGLOA Outstanding Seniors for 2024. AGLOA’s Outstanding Senior Award is one of the most prestigious honors awarded at the national tournament. The award recognizes not only a student’s academic accomplishments, but most importantly, their leadership skills, sportsmanship, and community involvement.

Sam participated in Academic Games at his elementary school before joining the Brother Marin High School team. Like the other players in his grade, his early high school years could have been difficult to stick with Academic Games since there were limited competitions and no national tournaments even if a player met the qualifications; however, Sam stuck with the program and continued to dedicate time to practicing and competing.

Academic Games allowed Sam to become more confident and focused in his studies. Without ever being asked, he took it upon himself to become his team’s unofficial assistant coach, helping to recruit and train fellow teammates. He takes pride in the team and wants the next
group of students to do the same. In his final tournament, Sam took home the Senior Division individual national championship in On-Sets.

NOAGL thanks Sam for his dedication to promoting the spirit of Academic Games in the New Orleans Academic Games League and beyond.
